ST. JOHNS BOARD OKS GOLF CARTS ON SOME ROADS
Golf carts will soon be legal on some country roads in St. Johns County in northern Florida.
The county commission unanimously approved an ordinance Tuesday allowing carts to share roads with cars, but it will only apply in areas where the speed limit is below 25 mph.
Commission Chairwoman Cynthia Stephenson says the law will not go into effect until county engineers review the roads. Several housing developments have supported the concept to cut down on automobile traffic.
